Rachel Holder is an amazing jazz singer so these images will be for her portfolio and promotion work. She is a rising star so check her out!!
Special thanks to David and Allie from Sunbear on an amazing job on hair and makeup, Erik from Mediagraphy for the helicopter footage, and Liz at Capture Salon and Studio for hair space!

These images haven’t been retouched yet, but we are excited just to put them out there ASAP! 🙂

Historic Loft Renovation – for New Loft Event Center in Stillwater

As many of you know, we are undertaking a massive renovation of our 4000 sq ft. upstairs, The Loft at Studio J (www.StudioJLoft.com)! We are accepting bookings starting June 1, 2013 for private events up to 250 people. It is the perfect party spot loaded with character that can easily seat 125 people for a plated dinner, have a live band or DJ and a fully functional photo booth as well!

Anyone that would like to help with the Loft historical preservation, please go to www.savetheloft.com (link below). We will be adding a front lobby to our downstairs so there will be a main street entrance to The Loft! We also need to replace the entire floor as well as add bathrooms, a bar, and wheelchair lift so we need a little help! All donations will receive HALF of their donation in a gift certificate to the studio. So, donate $500 and receive a $250 gift certificate! All donations (any amount!) will qualify for a raffle for a free iPad and the top donor will receive a portrait session and canvas wall grouping valued at $2000!

Booking rates start at $350 for weekday and $600 for weekends.

Chris Cunningham and Tom Catmull

Artist Bios:

Chris Cunningham

“Chris Cunningham has been writing songs since he was a teenager growing up in Montana. He is one half of the popular folk-pop duo Storyhill which is signed on Red House Records and has toured the US for two decades, releasing over a dozen albums, with numerous appearances on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion – including the 2011 APHC Cruise. Chris writes songs that explore, among other things, love, heartache, family and personal transformation. He often sings in character taking listeners on a journey through the eyes of another person. Chris lives in Bozeman, Montana with his family where he produces recordings for songwriters and bands in his studio, Basecamp Recording.”

Tom Catmull

“Predictably tough to pin the music into one neat and tidy genre, Tom Catmull presents a roots-driven sound flavored by some early impressions stamped on him as a skinny kid in Gulf Coast Texas. He spent his late teens and early twenties listening to as many Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt records as he could find, while simultaneously frothing over live performances by Shake Russell, Dana Cooper and Lyle Lovett. Tom has earned fiercely loyal followings as songwriter and performer from Oregon to Utah to Minnesota, but calls Missoula, MT home. After six records, a hundred songs and thousands of performances, Tom Catmull still hones the presentation of his show with guitar, harmonica and most recently the banjo. He’s been voted “Best Musician” by the Missoula Independents’ Readers Choice Awards for the last seven years in a row.

Frederick Earl Sather (Grandpa)

Grandpa Fred was quite a character that left a lasting impression on many.  My favorite memory of him was “fooling” me as a kid by blowing on his thumb to flex his tremendous biceps – it worked on me for like 10 years easy and he always threw his head back with a huge laugh afterward.  After surviving successive heart attacks, he was still up and around “trying to get his legs back” and finally his strong farmer’s heart gave way to peaceful night’s sleep at the age of 96.  Thanks for the memories, Grandpa! -Judd

Below is a slideshow of some favorite images of Grandpa – there are some repeats it was a late night project!  Thanks to all family for getting the images and Lee for scanning!

Here is my favorite image of my Grandpa and my dad.
