After 15 years of weddings I would like to offer you my best recommendations for wedding timelines! Adjustments can be made for longer or later ceremonies, travel, multiple locations, less hours, time of year etc. but this is bullet-proof 90% of the time! For spring, winter or late fall wedding we can shift the creative time to before the ceremony for natural light reasons. -Judd

On Saturday, January 16th, I performed the marriage ceremony of Cindy-Jo Schloer and Nathan Rundhaug at your Studio. As a retired Judge, I am available for weddings at almost any time.
I would appreciate being listed on your Vendor’s List. Retired Judge Ed Cass is on your Vendor’s List. I worked with Ed for 30 years at the Courthouse in Stillwater. Ed moved to Cape Cod in 2014. Ed refers me the couples who contact him.
At http://www.tgarmstrong.com there are over 350 pages in the Ceremony Library divided into 22 categories, such as Vows, Ring Exchanges, Readings, Pronouncements, Welcomes, Prayers, etc. Each couple can choose selections, and also add their own ideas and wording from other sources, so that every ceremony I perform is unique.
I am listed with The Knot.com, Wedding Wire, and other Internet sites.
What a way to end our 2014 wedding season!! Katie and Jarryd wanted a very atypical and non-intrusive day of wedding photography… so we got the bright idea to take ONLY 10 IMAGES for their day. What?!?!?!?
Of course we had to take a few family pictures and a couple photographer’s choice photos, but below are the original 9 image requests with Katie’s descriptions of each of them. It felt a little weird not capturing more images but it was really refreshing and exciting planning out the images and ramping up the pressure to capture just at the right moment!! I LOVE “The Shining” the image at the end of the night, the yarn ball decorations, and the fact that Dire Straights’ “Romeo and Juliet” come over the playlist (Take a minute to watch the horrible 80’s video) – it was so fun to celebrate your wedding with you two at The Loft! -Judd and Josh

5:00-Ceremony starts!
1. Katie and dad walking down aisle – we’ll have the ceremony in the small chapel at St. Ambrose and would like to get this shot from behind as we are walking in. If there’s a way to capture Jarryd in the shot as well as the wedding party in the background that would be awesome!
5:30ish
2. Katie and Jarryd exchanging rings – not sure where you’ll have to be to get the best angle on this one.
6:00-On our way to The Loft
3. Katie and Jarryd on the hill outside with Stillwater Christmas lights in the background – this one I think we’d like Jarryd to hug me from behind with both of our faces smiling at the camera…and capturing the vintage brooch on my wrap 🙂
Judd and Josh choice photo – by Christmas tree in town! Check out their shoes – super secret find! 🙂
6:10-As guests start arriving
4. Katie by herself – full body shot, with awesome lighting … something that shows off the dress and flowers with me smiling at the camera… Vintage sort of … ideas??
Judd and Josh choice photo – reflection of Katie in the mirror (Josh saw this one!)
5. Katie and the bridesmaids – I would like this shot in the parlor with all of the bridesmaids seated and/or close in around me (2 behind and 2 in front or something)…with flowers in the picture as well. Maybe just from elbows up? All smiling and pretty 🙂
Judd and Josh choice photo – bridesmaids in the Parlor (adding moodiness and interest)
6:15-Cocktail hour is starting!
6. Jarryd and the groomsmen- shoulders up the capture the ties and boutineers while smiling. Not sure on arrangement for this one, possibly a close picture of everyone standing together.
Judd and Josh choice photo – Groomsmen looking all Blue Steel… 🙂
6:30-Reception is underway
7. All wedding party at the bar-groomsmen without jackets holding up beer glasses and bridesmaids without flowers holding up wine glasses. Jarryd and Katie seated at bar and couples paired around them to give a cheers! Interactive and social looking, Jarryd and Katie are the only people looking at camera.
6:50-Cocktail hour winds down
8. Katie and Jarryd’s hands on vintage cocktail glasses-wide angle shot with us sitting at bar. Shot captures the top of the bar up to our noses with us kissing in the background. Focus, however, will stay on our hands/rings as we hold our awesome cocktail glasses…guests and candlelight ambience are blurry in the background. Judd’s note: I had to go a little wider on this one to get width and ambiance.
6:55-Just before supper
9. Picture of entire reception crowd- We’d like to take this at a higher angle possibly from above the bar of all the guests, with everyone smiling at the camera and Katie and Jarryd in the front and center. Think the final picture in “The Shining”.

On one of their first dates, Nathan was racing his motocross bike and had a serious crash 3/4 of the way around the track. Rachel not only followed the ambulance to the hospital but managed to load up his crashed bike into his pickup BY HERSELF! It was when he woke up in the hospital and she was there that he knew she was a keeper!
It was so fun getting to know you guys and this was such a fun wedding — here are the Top 10 moments from Rachel and Nathan’s wedding day:
10. Rachel’s awesome red shawl she had during the creative photography time
9. Nathan sporting said red shawl crossing the street
8. Modified “Abbey Road” whole wedding party shot
7. Having to do the Abbey Road shot three times to get the spacing right. 🙂
6. Nathan’s amazing woodwork and custom logo design
5. Having four photographers shooting from all angles including two rockin interns (Ester and Jordan)
4. Me standing in two cigarette pots to “get the shot”
3. Having little kid pictures of Nathan and Rachel on the bathroom doors (great touch!)
2. Having their Photo Booth album have pictures of two different people on it!
1. Great Grandma sticking her tongue out at me during family time (see below)
It is so fun re-inventing ourselves as the in-house photographers for The Loft at Studio J. We try to take new images and locations every time we are here and the decor and locations make a difference. With this crew we went to Rafters and I couldn’t help but notice that the floor had the same “springiness” that the Old Loft used to have. Or maybe that was all the drinks that were going down fast?! 🙂 Thanks for allowing us to spend an amazing day with you two and enjoy the slideshow! -Judd, Eric, Jordan, and Ester
