Randy + Jen (Ann Bean Mansion Stillwater, MN)

What an awesome morning! Probably the earliest wedding I’ve ever shot, but it made for a fun send off for Randy and Jen’s honeymoon. That’s right, right after the ceremony it was away to Italy and France for Randy and Jen. That is the way to do it! Plus it was close to home, just a mile from the studio.

Thanks Randy and Jen for the most unique wedding I’ve done in a long time. Enjoy the images!

-Josh and Chris

Ross + Rachel: 07.16.2011 (St. Stephen Lutheran Church and Royal Cliff Ballroom)

Ross and Rachel were not on a break today… thought I’d get the Friends reference out of the way right away. 🙂

Good news is that we all lost about 20 pounds yesterday thanks to a heat index of about a million and no wind whatsoever. The whole wedding party were troopers going out in the heat to get some amazing stuff down at Centennial Lakes Park in Edina.

Despite the heat, or maybe because of the heat, we got some really creative images – toward the end of the night the sun was going down and Ross and Rachel were up for breaking away from the dance floor for a quick sunset shot. Well I forgot our lenses would instantly fog over with that dew point but I shot anyway and we got the most amazing image. The image is below that I didn’t even touch in photoshop as I feel it would ruin the story and difficulty of capturing it. See if the you can see Ross’s beer glass in the grass at the bottom. Hint: it’s the foggy-looking image. 🙂

Jim + Jessica: 6.18.2011 (Stillwater Trellis)

Some fun rain shots today! Who says you can’t shoot in the rain? 🙂 Luckily Jim and Jessica had the early time slot at the gorgeous Trellis in Sillwater because right about 12:30 the heavens opened and we got wet. Luckily for us we have a 5400 square foot photography studio here in Stillwater, so after a quick lunch we hung out at the studio and took some artsy images! I love the images below on the cool couch Sherri at the Trellis suggested. Also the “Abbey Road with Umbrellas” was very fitting as well.

Other misc fun memories were Jim’s shiner (from the bachelor party) and Cadence’s dress (very cool!). Congratulations you two!

Our Grand Opening! (Stillwater Portrait Studio, Art Gallery, and Wedding, Senior and Family Photographer)

Wow we had about 400 people through the studio and upper and lower galleries last Saturday! It was great to have an official “christening” of the new place – we look forward to serving our clients this summer – glad the summer weather is here! We now have one of the largest exclusive photography studios in the nation and we love having our portrait studio right in the heart of downtown Stillwater!

Sean + Ashley (Lord of the Lakes, Stars and Strikes)

Sean and Ashley,
Congratulations guys – what a youthful, fun bridal party to hang with today! Lots of energy and style – the suspenders were one of my favorite looks for guys ever and I always love purple for the bridesmaids. Glad you guys were up for the trek to MPLS for the Stone Arch Bridge area, and Sean you were a good sport for doing the “chasing the bride” shot on the seguey…

Ashley you get the award for the most enthusiastic “I will” during the vows, that was awesome. Glad you guys had a great time at the reception with Josh and Natalie! -Judd, Josh, and Natalie

I wanted to say a HUGE thanks for Studio J and Judd. Ashley’s wedding would never have been complete without you guys. The pictures that I have seen from Studio J and Judd were so beautiful that a mother couldn’t express more the meaning of making her daughter happy on that very special day. Thanks again for all your work and I will highly recommend Judd Sather/Studio J!!!
