Ryan + Jill: 10.08.2011 (St Joseph’s in New Hope and Nicollet Island Pavillion)

Wow. What an amazing October day: peak leaves, temps in the 80’s, and a fun-loving wedding party made for an incredible time yesterday. Jill and Ryan pretty much smiled the whole day and we cruised around in the limo bus for a couple hours stopping at the Twins stadium glove, some cool old windows, and of course White Castle (thanks Dylan!).

The image of Ryan and Jill in the leaves with the midnight blue sky is one of my top 20 favorites. Ever. Just because I finally got Jill to be serious for a second! 🙂 There was a spontaneous high five that sent a string of pearls flying (sorry grandma!) and I love the shot of Ryan giving me the thumbs up during a candid kiss in the hallway exit after the ceremony. -Judd & Josh

Mike + Erica: 09.24.2011 (Chateau St. Croix)

Wow where to start; the Chateau St. Croix is just an amazing place for a wedding. Rolling Hills, quaint ceremony location in the field, Model T delivering Erica down the aisle, cornstalks, stacked wine barrels, ornery Turkeys getting “wrangled”, the beginning of fall color, trip to Taylor’s Falls for some amazing cool rock/water/nature images, some crazy dad swearing incredibly loudly at his kid for getting too close to the rocks, and our first photobooth experience on the large thrones in front of the massive fireplace are just some of the images that come quickly to mind.

Chris + Ali: 09.10.2011 (St. Stephan Lutheran Church and Hilton, Bloomington)

Ali called us the day after she got engaged to see if we were open for her wedding; she would have called the day of she said, but they were out of range on a hunting trip I believe (Chris is an avid hunter). Ali was a bridesmaid at Erica and Stuart’s wedding back in 2005. Now that is good patience! 🙂

My favorite part of the day was when Ali said during the toasts that “this was the best day of her life… well besides my 30th birthday party – WOOT!” that was hilarious. I loved the sweet brown tuxes, wheat shafts in the flowers, and Mike’s speech about seeing Chris’ second home run (Mike is Chris’ dad and the best man and he was rattling off all the “firsts” he had seen, but he had a work event and missed the first home run.

So great to share time with two such fun-loving people as Chris and Ali, there was electricity in the air and this marked only the 4th time we’ve stayed until the DJ was packing up his stuff – good times! -Judd, Josh, Chris, Alicia, and Mandi (First ever 5-person Studio J Crew!)

Scott

Scott was an amazing man. Jenn is an amazing woman for marrying the love of her life despite the brain cancer diagnosis. Josh and I were lucky enough to spend a few days with both of these amazing people at Matt and Jenn’s Wedding in Mexico in February. My heart goes out to you Jenn Dokken, who has lost two brothers: Chris (snowmobiling accident) and now Scott to cancer in the same year.

Here is Scott’s info. Sometimes I hate capturing images of people that are going to pass, but I know it is a great service as well to the family. We’ll catch you on the other side, buddy. -Judd

Cole + Ann: (Bethlehem Lutheran and Lake Elmo Event Center)

So I’m out scoping out a night shot for Cole and Ann’s closing image and here comes this huge charter bus and like 12 girls from the wedding hop in and they take off at like 8pm You don’t see that every day. Ann was the goalie for Iowa State’s soccer team and just graduated in May, and the team happened to be playing the U of M this Labor Day Weekend so she had a bunch of younger teammates make it to the wedding – very cool!

It was a gorgeous day close to home for both Ann and Cole (Stillwater grads) and Bethlehem Lutheran where Ann grew up in the church. Here are some of our favorite images in a slideshow (almost as good as Lori’s at the reception)! 🙂 -Judd, Josh, Chris, and Mandi

Josh + Colleen: 08.21.2011 (New Life Church and The Little Log House, Hastings MN)

Josh and Colleen have such a deep faith and love for each other, it was just amazing to be a part of such a fun celebration. Josh was THE ONLY GUY Colleen has ever dated (insert “good thing” joke here). Josh and Todd made some awesome wooden table decorations, and Colleen’s dad, Davin, sang “I Loved You First” to her for the father-daughter dance. Very cool. This Little Log House / Pioneer Village place down in Hastings was really interesting spot which yielded some amazing images.

It was a crazy dance party (Thanks Bob Hackney for bringing your tambourine, magic flute, and ribbon wand) that lasted until we left around 11:30 – how late did it go? I found out my back is as old as my break dancing moves so I’ve pumped up the lumbar support on my chair this morning. Enjoy the slideshow before you go on your trip on Tuesday! -Judd and Josh

I LOOOOVED watching this pictorial/video! What a fun wedding party to work with – glad to see the “maid’s” hair held up through the dancing (including the practice routines that morning :)!) Some of the pics are so cool – Rock the dress worthy – and the reflection in the Groom’s sunglasses is such a great detail to catch! Congratulations to the wonderful couple!!! – Kira McCarty
