Our New Portrait Studio and Art Gallery in Stillwater

After about 3 months of construction starting in January 2011, I believe we are finally “finished” with the new studio transformation.  Special thanks to Jeremiah Sullivan, Kristi Sullivan, Lee Sather, Josh Koosmann, Jeff Cogswell, and Chris Wegner for doing a Lion’s Share of the work.  It is an amazing, 5400 sq. ft. space; and one of the largest exclusive photography studios in the state.  And we can watch movies in here too…  Stop by and check it out!

UST Spring Fling Production

We jetted from Dean and Daphne’s Wedding to St. Thomas after a quick stop at Wendy’s of course… we quickly switched gears from Stillwater Wedding Photographers to Minneapolis Event Photographers. It was great to spend another night with the boys at Eide.com production company. We ran a photo booth for the University of St. Thomas Spring Fling Dance an it was crazy! About 3000 kids and most of them came through the booth. DJ Josh Taylor and Johnny One did an amazing job along with MC Timmy, and the production crew made the production seamless.

Here is a quick slideshow and click here to see the link for all the production pics. Contact Mike for the password! Photo booth images were either printed on site or sent privately to students. -Judd, Josh, Chris, Jenna, and Melissa

Dean and Daphne (Historic Courthouse and Lowell Inn, Stillwater)

Can’t wait to spend some more time with these guys today!  What can I say, it is always fun and amazing to spend time with two people who are so obvious in love.  Both Dean and Daphne have these infectious, contagious smiles that just that clearly inspire people to write music (see video below from Joia Byrnes).  It was great to see the Fairy Tale Fluckies (Daphne’s band) that I had literally heard so much about.  Dean has 7 brothers from all over the country and it was great to see them all together – I swear they were all the same age though which is strange.  Anyway, near the end of the artistic time between the ceremony and reception we dropped off the wedding party and found a little “open road” for some of the most amazing shots we have captured.  Dean and Daphne wanted their marriage to not be a settling down but to be going out on the “open road” together so here are the images and videos:

Judd, Josh, Aron and everyone at Studio J …

We wanted to write to thank you for such beautiful work. We first saw the pix while honeymooning on an island in Lake Nicaragua. At sunset we received your e-mail and watched the slideshow … and then watched it again, over and over (and over).

We are spellbound at the artistry, not quite knowing how to thank you for capturing our wedding day so beautifully. Like no one else could have.

We are home now and continue to watch it, over and over. It is all true, and yet somehow you have captured the truth more beautifully, more soundly, more correctly than we could ever have imagined possible. You brought the moment into broad daylight. No tricks of photography, this. Just careful eyes, quick hands, instinct and artistry, pure and simple. For that we thank you. Over the years, as we remember the day, we’ll recall our good fortune at having chosen you to capture it.

We’re glad you are interested in becoming a high school senior ambassador for Judd Sather Photography!  We are looking for well-liked, influential, and involved students to represent our studio and spread the word about the creative images we create with our seniors.
Benefits of being an ambassador include a complimentary “elements” session (2 hours, 5 outfits) at our indoor and outdoor studios in downtown Stillwater, as well as other discounts.  We ask our ambassadors to get their senior portraits done in the spring of their junior year and give them gift certificates to hand out to their friends.  Please schedule an appointment with us to completely review the program with one of your parents and get a tour of our new 6000 sq. foot studio!  After you fill out the form below, one of our managers should be in touch with you! info@studiojphoto.com or 651-342-1476
