There were so many cool things and details about this wedding but this is the coolest: Allie’s present to Ryan was her framed diary entry from 2001 when they were childhood sweethearts:
“Dear Diary, Well everything is pretty much the same. Ryan and me are still going out. It’s been 6 months. Half a Year! Ahh.. I love him so much. I don’t know what I would do without him. I feel like I want to marry him or something! I always think about my future and he’s always in it. I imagine us getting married and having kids. I’m so glad I found him! He feels the same way, and he said he always imagines us getting married too. Cool huh?!”
Well, 11 years after that entry it happened. It was so special for us because Allie is our studio album designer and has worked for the studio for about 5 years; so everyone felt like family. Ha I just remembered she was one of the first high school seniors I shot, so that is a first — senior pics & wedding pics! We stayed late, ran a photobooth and I even broke out The Worm dance move which slightly injured my back late in the night! Here’s a little Worm tutorial video for y’all. It was a day filled with infectious smiles, laughter, crazy dancing, hijinks, shenanigans, and just plain fun. One really cool idea they did was instead of a unity candle, the had a box in which their parents placed a letter. The box is to be opened at their 10 year anniversary, or opened earlier if they were having problems with their marriage. It is a very forward-thinking and unique idea!
Some of our favorite images are below: Ryan faking like he’s running away from the ceremony, Allie’s flying veil (yes she stuck her head out the car window on the way to the ceremony), waterfall superheros, singing during the first dance, etc, etc, etc! We will edit a complete highlight video for them in a few weeks – below is the slideshow we played at the reception plus a few extras and a couple video clips.
